Many people feel anxious about visiting a doctor or a dentist, so when these symbols emerge in your dreams they may be urging you to overcome your fears and bravely face what is coming to you. As is the case with many dreams that feature health and sickness, they may be signaling the onset of illness so it might be worth your while to have a dental or medical check-up. As archetypal authority figures, if dentists, doctors, surgeons and nurses offer you advice in your dreams, it might be wise to listen to it. Seeing yourself working as a hospital nurse or doctor is perhaps an expression of a desire to take charge of an area of your life in which you feel you do not have much control. To see a nurse or doctor leaving your house suggests good health, but to see yourself being cared for by a doctor or nurse suggests that you are feeling vulnerable and in need of support.
If an alternative practitioner or quack doctor appears in your dream, this may suggest that you are employing desperate measures in waking life and are in danger of becoming an obsessive.
