If you dreamed of opening a cupboard door to find that it opened into an empty room or a room you hadn’t seen before, your dreaming mind is telling you that you are ready for new challenges in life. The time is right to begin a new project or make a change. The dream can also suggest hidden memories and emotions, suggestive of the ‘skeleton in the cupboard’.
If the cupboard is open, closed or you are trapped in it, this indicates how open or closed you are to other people and the possibility of change. To see a closet in your dream symbolizes something in your life that you have kept hidden. It may also signify an unveiling of previously hidden aspects of yourself as in ‘coming out of the closet’. Storing clothes in the wardrobe or dressing room may express the image you want to present to the outside world—or in Jungian terminology, the persona. A locked wardrobe indicates a desire for privacy, whereas a wardrobe overflowing with clothes suggests extravagance.
